The Potomac Thrummers, ATHA Guild
Nan Crawford
is a Virginia native and a graduate of the Art Institute of
Pittsburgh. Natural materials inspire her creativity and she feels
best when combining nature’s raw elements.
Since
entering the world of felting, Nan’s unique felted pieces have won
awards during the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival, Southeastern
Animal Fiber Festival and Fall Fiber Festival of Virginia. She also
teaches felting workshops for children and adults.
Anne Marie Decker (aka
Sigrid Briansdotter) has been researching and teaching nalbinding
for over twelve years. She has written two instructional booklets
and has presented papers on nalbinding at the International Medieval
Congress in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Bess Haile is a library director in real
life, she has developed a story program that combines folk lore,
economic, technological, and social history and fine motor
development with hand spinning, which she offers to schools and
libraries.
